Headaches & High Blood Pressure????
Hi all, I have a pal who has been having headaches for about five years. He is in his early forties and at his wits end. He had a couple of inconclusive scans about three years ago and a course of acupuncture that helped but was no cure. Ever since the Doc has had him on every pill imaginable to little effect. So a few months back i got him a blood pressure monitor that we have checked against other models for accuracy. Surprise surprise, his results are all over the place - for example, this last weekend while down with yet another 3 day headache he got a nosebleed to go with it, so out with the monitor. The reading was consistently 149 over 112 (i suspect not good?). He has recently started taking attenol 2.5 but although initially an improvement was noted, things seem to have settled back to the same old problem. Another symptom is that his eyelids seem to swell up with the onset and during these headaches - he really does look like a zombie from the dead! Any ideas????

- My husband had symptoms like these. He was a probation officer and the job was SO stressful that it was ruining his blood pressure. In the end after having a headache for a weeks he went to the doc - and yes his BP was very similar to your friends. His GP wanted to out him on medication immediately Hoever he refused medication as he wanted to try and fix it himself - particularly as his diet was good and and all blood tests were fine, he didn't smoke or drink. He researched natural ways to reduce BP and also started losing weight which was a contributor. He found that after reading the book below, he started eating at least 2 sticks of celery per day ( a natural BP lowering food) and eating oily fish every day started to lower his BP. He measures it daily and it really does seem to be working along with a very healthy diet. I have to say that has not been easy for him as he hates celery but he was so determined not to be on medication for the rest of his life! His GP is gobsmaked I can tell you! I hope this helps.
- He is experiencing cluster headaches. Stay away from alcohol. Contact a very knowledgeable answerer to this site: 'onlymatch 4U' via the question " Any aid for hemiplegic migraine?". The above mentioned person will get the blood pressure down and get rid of the headaches too.
