How safe are those homemedics massagers units?
I'm thinking of puirchasing a homemedics shiatstu/rolling massage unit. It straps to the back of a chair and has a control unit which you hold while the thing goes to work.. I've tried it in the store and it seems fine, but some people have warned me not to over use it as it can actually do damage.. is this true? Has anyone heard any stories or actually owned one? I was looking to buy the top line model for $299 it has the 4 rolling motors plus vibrating leg massager.. its been on discount for the first time recently so I'm seriously thinking of getting one.. any advice??

- Bought one, returned it a week later. My wife has fibromyalgia and I got it for her back pain. It did wonders for me, but for her, it actually hurt her worse than her disorder! I prefer the smaller handheld percussion massager they make for back pain, as it has heated heads that can really punchout some of those knots. The chair massager is incapable of simply working on one spot; it has to move in a circle to operate. I recommend you buy it from a respectable retailer that has a 30 day return policy. Try it out vigorously for a few days, and you'll soon know if you need to keep it. Nothing beats a good loving pair of hands and some massage oil, if you ask me. Good luck!
